Belfast Lough Sailability Regatta

Belfast Lough Sailability hosted the 2nd round of the RYA Sailability regatta on Saturday 27th July.
11 Hansa 303s and 2 Hawk 20s competed in the event over 3 races and competitors travelled from Lough Erne Sailability and Foyle Sailability clubs to compete against the sailors from Carrickfergus. With light winds the sailing was close and tactics came in to play.
Each race had a different winner with honours in the Hansa fleet going to Thomas Quinn/John Patrick, Sophie McClenaghan/Paul Green and Matthew Dolan Smith/Colin de Fleury
In the Hawk 20 series Arica, helmed by Karen Robinson Allen and crewed by Andy, Prez and Ann came away winners with 1st place in 2 of the 3 races.
1Belfast Lough Sailaibility came away the overall team winners for the event and the day was rounded off with a prize giving ceremony attended by the Lord Mayor of Mid & East Antrim, Alderman Beth Adger, MBE and representatives from the RYA followed by a BBQ in the grounds of Carrickfergus Sailing Club.
