Calling all BLS members, family and friends: we want you to join us for a once in a lifetime event in the magnificent Belfast City Hall.

We are delighted to announce that Councillor Jim Rodgers, O.B.E., High Sheriff of Belfast City Council, has nominated Belfast Lough Sailability as one of his chosen charities. Summer Scheme

Our Halifax Foundation for Northern Ireland supported 2016 Summer Scheme at Carrickfergus between 18 and 22 July will offer free of charge fully accessible sailing and motor boat handling sessions on Belfast Lough to people living with disabilities, and create volunteering opportunities – including for those working towards the Duke of Edinburgh and President’s Award Schemes. We were delighted to be invited back to Belfast Titanic Maritime Festival over the late May Bank Holiday weekend, with two of our Hawk 20 keelboats, Arica and Tamarind and the fully accessible powerboat Sea Rover offering trips on the Lagan with our safety RIB Fergus in attendance. Continue…

Try-a-Boat!

Our annual Try-a-Boat day is Saturday 21st May when it’s Open House, or rather Open Boat, at Carrickfergus Harbour from 1pm to 3pm. Along with Carrickfergus Sailing Club and Carrickfergus Sea Cadets, BLS will be offering an open session to the general public to ‘Try a Boat’, which could be anything from a kayak through all manner of sailing boats to a power cruiser.
